The O.C. Tanner Institute
The O.C. Tanner Institute is committed to researching and sharing insights that help organizations inspire and appreciate great work. The institute provides a global forum for exchanging ideas about recognition, engagement, leadership, culture, human values, and sound business principles.
“..to search for what I thought was better than gold — ideas, theories, values, truths.” – Obert Clark Tanner
We have a rich history of thought leadership. Our founder, Obert Clark Tanner, was a scholar, humanitarian, and educator, teaching at Stanford University and the University of Utah for 29 years while supervising the growing O.C. Tanner Company.
The thirst for knowledge and passion for sharing continues today in the O.C. Tanner Institute. Just like our founder, we’re curious to know what inspires people to accomplish what they do. It’s fascinating work. We’re delighted to share it with you and invite you to explore our:
- Global recognition research studies and white papers
- Best-selling books
- Leadership insights at our annual Executive Recognition Summit attended by senior executives from around the world, who gather to share the latest industry best practices and engagement strategies.
- The Tanner Lecture on Human Values, an endowed lectureship at Oxford, Cambridge, Princeton, Harvard, Stanford, Yale, and the universities of Utah, Michigan, and California, “to contribute to the intellectual and moral life of mankind.”
