In Others' Words
The prominent research firm Wirthlin Worldwide in McLean, VA, has published an unprecedented nationwide (US) study of attitudes surrounding employee recognition programs among two important groups CEOs and HR VPs.

This comprehensive study, Employee Recognition: A Vital Ingredient In American Business, included interviews with 200 CEOs, and 401 HR VPs of large- and medium-sized companies.

Referencing the investment in recognition programs, Wirthlin Worldwide notes that "interestingly, 'bottomline' concerns of increasing profitability and sales are secondary to other goals which focus primarily on the investment in human capital." The study concludes that well-executed employee recognition, especially length-of-service awards, is a high and continuing priority for corporate America.

Details and results of the study are in a special Spring 1997 edition of Wirthlin Worldwide's Executive Insights. For your free copy, call 1-888-313-3005.
